Hi. Sorry is this gets confusing, because I AM getting confused.

Our church has been running OpenLP successfully on a test laptop using SPARKY LINUX (with XFCE) and OPENLP, both from the STABLE BRANCH, and hence old versions. This combo ran ok and we used it for several weeks.

Now I am setting up another laptop with SPARKY (with XFCE) & OpenLP from the UNSTABLE branch, so pretty much the latest versions ... and this time around I have completely failed to get OpenLP to pick up the projector.

At first, on starting OpenLP, all I got was a white screen on the laptop. A few web searches later, I learned that I could dismiss the white screen with the Esc key, revealing the OpenLP app. However, I soon found that (even with HDMI connected, the projector on and Desktop and Display settings the same as the other laptop), all LIVE requests appeared on the laptop screen.

It must be an OpenLP configuration issue, I thought. Nothing seemed to be relevant, all OpenLP config settings (through its Settings menus) looked the same as on the other laptop.

Then, through distraction & frustration, I stupidly made a change to the Splash & Logo settings (I can't remember what exactly). Now, when I start OpenLP, I get the ... logo? ... on a white screen. Again I must dismiss it with the Esc key, but then OpenLP appears but is unresponsive.

My first priority is to somehow stop OpenLP crashing. THEN, I can go back to trying to diagnose why it won't connect to the projector. Please can anyone help?

Just to confirm, I am using OpenLP v3.1.7, as shown here ...
