OpenLP 3.1 has been released!

raoul regarding 3.1 crashing on startup with intel macOS. I have noticed the download file size is much smaller than in previous version and the Release Clients - just an observation.

raoul I noticed the "Test-build" for Intel Macs, it does install and loads up. However it exhibits the same problem that I experienced with RC4.

I did a completely clean install with only the sample songs, all the default settings and all supplied themes.

OpenLP started and left to complete all the thumbnail stuff.

Selected first song on the list and sent it to "Live" (see screenshot below)

After 13 / 14 minutes, the song appeared in the live window but nothing in the display window. The problem is that the song was split line by line (see screenshot below)

I checked the edit song option and all seemed in order.

JimS Hrm, this looks like a problem with the renderer. Can you upload a debug log file please?

@JimS @felix Thanks gentlemen! I see the same error in both log files, which means you're both seeing the same problem, despite different systems. I'll have to dig a little and see if there's a way to fix it.

@JimS @felix OK, I think I've fixed the issue.

Please can you download a test build from https://get.openlp.org/3.1.0/test-build/ and let me know if they work for you.

x86_64 is for Intel
arm64 is for Apple

Did a clean install, but crashed when it got to the point of running the app.

An observation is that the download file size is 110 MB smaller than the previous test build version that loaded but had the display error.

JimS OK, I just uploaded another Intel build, which works when I test it locally. Try the new build?

This works for me, thank you so much for this software and for all your efforts over the past week in resolving the issue that I experienced.

I first tried an update but that didn't work as the previous install must have corrupted the song database and while all appeared fine the songs were split line by line.

The clean install worked as expected using all the default setting and songs.

I will update my songs using my backup songs database later but thought it best to let you know all was working OK.

What is the official advice if running Linux Mint, it's current release Linux Mint 21.3 but I'm not getting newer openlp releases. We're still on 3.0.2-2.

Cool, a new Release! Will there be a 3.2.0 for Ubuntu? Will I get it through 23.10 universe repositories once it's out?

joe Ubuntu generally pulls from Debian unstable a little bit before each release, so whatever is in Debian unstable is what will be in the next release of Ubuntu.

https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/openlp shows that since 2022 Bastian Germann is maintainig openlp on Debian. Is he also the one who makes the deb packages, or is that a seperated job, done by someone else?

joe Yes, we usually just copy the deb files that he creates onto get.openlp.org
