I'm noticing a long delay (about a second long) when clicking the "x" to clear the song search box. The delay is evident in all search categories except Songbooks, Themes, and CCLI Number. It seems to be related to the larger number of items being searched. There is also a delay when switching between search categories. I don't notice a delay like that in Bibles or Custom Slides.

I ran this a few times on MacOS 12.7 (Monterey). Each time, it started OK after updating my databases. I could add one hymn and then nothing else. The cursor pointer changed to a watch and I could do nothing else. So that's all I'll do with this candidate.

Hi. I have been taking an initial look at RC2 on WIndows 10 laptop. While editing a default theme for eg., when replacing the picture the thumbnail generated is corrupt and it also corrupts the original image. The final image at the end of editing process is OK and the theme works as intended but it simply shows as a black icon in the theme list. Strangely the "The Lord said to Noah" image generated at the end of the edit doesn't appear in the list of images which follow the theme folders in the 'themes' folder where all the others appear to be, The corrupted images do however appear there I have no idea how these images are generated and probably wouldn't understand if you told me! Been using openLP for 5 years now - thanks for all the work.

NJS1945 I've also occasionally seen this behaviour and I've no idea what causes it. But if you click on Tools there is an option to "Update Theme Images". This goes through all the existing themes and regenerates the thumbnails that you can see in the Themes section. This always (at least for me) fixes the problem.

joe Sorry, we didn't get to creating the Debian/Ubuntu package yet. We're trying to get another RC out, so that's taking priority.

AndrewArm Thanks Andrew, hadn't noticed that. Yes, fixes it for me also. Not sure if it is omething to do with where the chosen image is filed. I'll do some more on it.

In order to support Linux with low effort, you may also consider making a snap or flatpak instead of deb + fedora + rpm… Shouldn't that also get rid of version conflict like we had before ("old version of python-websockets"). Maybe I am completely wrong, but, you know, just sayin'…

…And also I can't wait to try out OpenLP 3.1 on my Ubuntu! :-)

Timboxy Updated to RC4. Seems to behave no better. First thing it tries to do is recreate the thumbnails, gets to 16% and then stalls. Still can't see songs in Preview or Main pane, still can't detect installed VLC.

Still has to be force quit too.

In short still non functional.

Tried with RC4 Mac Sonoma 14.1 Apple Silicon
After install when starting it gets stuck on Recreating Theme Thumbnails - Blue Burst and about 20 % through.
I can force quit and restart. Clicking on a song changes the Preview or Live window to the title of the song but does not display the lyrics. However I can edit the song and the lyrics are all there. Same for custom slides.
It seems to have lost my images - but that looks to be just a config issue for the location.
If I do tools - update theme images it gets stuck as before.

Happy to provide any logs etc that may help - just let me know

tnarraf I have a very similar problem, only difference, I think, is that OpenLP hangs during a re index of the song database. If I leave it long enough the song words do appear but when I select a different song the title updates but no lyrics. This happens on both Preview and Live. I am using a 2019 intel MacBook Pro with a 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1.

A further update.....

I decided to wait it out and after a wait of 10+ minutes the words appeared in the "Live" window below the title field but not in the themed window lower down. I did notice that the slides that would be displayed were line by line and not the whole verse or chorus as would be expected. There is something really strange going on as checking the song in edit mode was all as expected.

Hope this helps the developers understand the issue.
