OpenLP 3.1.0 Release Candidate 2
I don't know what I'm getting wrong with, but when presenting with a video theme, my projector doesn't play video, only a black background and text (Figure 1). But when I take a screenshot to report an error, it shows a side with a video but no text. (Figure 2)

Hi,
Just tried the RC2 and now video and audio end at the right moment without short (2-4 secs) repeat. It may have introduced a new issue where there is now a small blank pause on looped media for video backgrounds. This is under Windows 10.
Just been trying 3.1.0 RC2 on Windows 11. First impressions are that it behaves much better on my high definition laptop.
I'm still getting an odd resolution reported for the laptop screen when I view the screen settings. The windows 11 resolution is reported as 2736x1824 (Scale is 175%) whereas OpenLP reports 1368x912. Is this expected behaviour?
On Windows 10 22H2,
One thing I noticed with motion backgrounds is this; when loading in the next service item, the motion background will flash and reload as a tiny square in the upper left corner with the desktop being shown. It will then expand to fit the screen, but this is a very jarring transition to have during service/performance.
On MacOS Ventura The program gets as far as the main interface but all songs are invisible in the preview and projector columns. Images show OK.
Also, when you try to quit it doesn't, and you have to force quit.
Sergioaguizapa This problem needs to be addressed soon. It started with Version 3
I've just been testing OpenLP 3.1.0 RC2 on a Win 11 machine.
I have a theme that has transitions enabled on it.
I've noticed that when using left/right arrow keys to change between songs, that the new song that is being switched to starts off with different words and then transitions back to the first slide.
This seems to depend on which slide number I was on in the previous song.
So for example, if I was on the second slide of the initial song, pressing the right arrow to jump to the next song, the screen starts off with the second slide of that song and then transitions back to the first slide (if that makes sense).
This does make things a little distracting and means I really need to leave transitions turned off at the moment.
This is the error im having on my installation on lINUX, LUBUNTU

I get this error when upgrading the database from Openlp 2.9. I looked at the commits on gitlab and changed the upgrade_8 version back to the old code from Tim Bentley and then the database was upgrade. So there is some bug there.
I get a blank window for songselect import.
Rensdebees Do you have a backup of your database? Can you send it to bugs3 (at) openlp.org please?
sean_hachem This is a known issue, which has been fixed and will be in the next release.
I'm noticing a long delay (about a second long) when clicking the "x" to clear the song search box. The delay is evident in all search categories except Songbooks, Themes, and CCLI Number. It seems to be related to the larger number of items being searched. There is also a delay when switching between search categories. I don't notice a delay like that in Bibles or Custom Slides.
I ran this a few times on MacOS 12.7 (Monterey). Each time, it started OK after updating my databases. I could add one hymn and then nothing else. The cursor pointer changed to a watch and I could do nothing else. So that's all I'll do with this candidate.
Jamie Hockin Just the same for me on Mac Sonoma 14.1.1
Hi. I have been taking an initial look at RC2 on WIndows 10 laptop. While editing a default theme for eg., when replacing the picture the thumbnail generated is corrupt and it also corrupts the original image. The final image at the end of editing process is OK and the theme works as intended but it simply shows as a black icon in the theme list. Strangely the "The Lord said to Noah" image generated at the end of the edit doesn't appear in the list of images which follow the theme folders in the 'themes' folder where all the others appear to be, The corrupted images do however appear there I have no idea how these images are generated and probably wouldn't understand if you told me! Been using openLP for 5 years now - thanks for all the work.
Note
Debian/Ubuntu builds will be coming soon
We will update this blog post once the Debian/Ubuntu package has been built
Will there eventually be a version for Ubuntu? Or is there a new RC release in the starting blocks?
