KCG Unfortunately I am however on remote version 0.9.10 and the older tablet browsers just shows logo on that, doesn't work. I'm willing to dive deep into terminal commands to get a work around if anyone has ideas.

meerkat_ip I share your pain! I have two old iPads in perfect working order but are just sitting ducks since I cannot get any version of the remote to work on them. They only show the OpenLp logo as you describe. Luckily and joyfully, the remote 0.9.10 has been working on my old Samsung tablet so you can imagine my panic when I couldn't get the tablet to work yesterday at church, after upgrading to 0.9.11. As I stated in my earlier post, I have now been able to downgrade to 0.9.10 so it should be fine for now.
What would be really useful is if we could get some backward compatibility with older browsers.

KCG ok, I think that you use an ipad as well. In that case you are locked by Apple and forced to use an older release.

KCG YES!! Old browser backward compatibility would be awesome... even if it means an option to disable some features, I really just need the plain old link stuff to keep working.

witterholt I would really appreciate some easy instructions for how to revert to a previous version of the remote plugin. I upgraded to 0.9.12 today and it broke. I've tried everything else that has been suggested, but don't know how to go back to 0.9.10 which worked perfectly

Nicthevic it is quite straightforward to revert to an earlier version. I will try to write out the steps below:

Download the version you want from the link Chris has posted above
Unzip the downloaded file
In OpenLp navigate to Tools > Open Data Folder
Once in the Data Folder, open the remotes folder (It should contain artifacts for the currently installed Remote version)
Delete the contents of the remotes folder and replace them with the contents of the unzipped file in step 2 above
Done - You should now have the version you want

The next version of Web Remote will contain the instructions how to install a previous version of Web Remote in case your browser is not supported.

Version 0.9.13 has just been released and contains the instructions on how to downgrade to a previous version when your browser is not supported.

witterholt I'm not sure what my problem is. I was finally able to access the directory listing but only through a web proxy. I don't know if I'm on some blacklisted IP or there's some other issue with my connection. My Internet works fine otherwise. I still cannot update the remote normally through OpenLP. I also cannot download resource data through the first-time wizard. But at least I was able to get version 0.9.13 of the remote installed manually by downloading it through a proxy, and it's working. Thanks!

dtritsch We recently changed the server behind get.openlp.org, and it looks like your DNS has not yet updated. See if you can clear the DNS cache on your computer, or change the DNS servers you're using.
