A couple of week's ago we had a remote update and since then we have not been able to access our schedule via the web remote in any way. It only gives us the openlp logo. Is this a known issue or is there something we can do to resolve it?

It's very important that we continue to be able to use our tablets for web remote access.

Thanks Vickie

What tablet are you using?

I raised a similar question a few weeks ago—and although I didn't get an answer, my guess is the remote interface uses some code/components (probably javascript) that isn't supported in older browsers.

If you look at this file: https://gitlab.com/openlp/web-remote/-/blob/master/.browserslistrc you'll see which browsers the web remote is aiming to support.

thanks. It doesnt matter whether we use our usual chrome or try another browser it is still stuck on the logo screen and doesnt load

I'm having the same problem, it works smoothly on various browsers on my mac laptop. But I need it on a tablet, and since the tablet is a bit old and can't update to the very latest version I can't get it to work on any browser. On my iphone it only works on chrome.

If we can only get a type of work around for the older browsers that would be awesome.

I also encountered this issue yesterday after updating to version 0.9.11. I have alway had it working perfectly on my old tablet until yesterday's update. This seems to be down to the update to the latest version of Angular as indicated by the changelog on GitLab by Chris Witterholt. Is there any way to downgrade back to 0.9.10?

KCG As a workaround, I managed to find a PC with remote version 0.9.10 and copied the contents of the remote folder. I am now once again able to use my old tablet!!

KCG What is your issue with version 0.9.11?

If you need an older version, they can be downloaded from here: https://get.openlp.org/remote/

It is important to stay up-to-date though if your computer is connected to the internet since there are security vulnerabilities in older versions.

Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. I have an 'oldish' tablet and when I updated to 0.9.11 yesterday, it only shows the openlp logo and nothing else.

Ok, and what do you see in the console of the browser when you press F-12 (developer tools)?

        • KCG replied to this.

KCG Unfortunately I am however on remote version 0.9.10 and the older tablet browsers just shows logo on that, doesn't work. I'm willing to dive deep into terminal commands to get a work around if anyone has ideas.

witterholt I'm running on a tablet so I'm not sure how to get to the developer tools as there's no F-12 to press

meerkat_ip I share your pain! I have two old iPads in perfect working order but are just sitting ducks since I cannot get any version of the remote to work on them. They only show the OpenLp logo as you describe. Luckily and joyfully, the remote 0.9.10 has been working on my old Samsung tablet so you can imagine my panic when I couldn't get the tablet to work yesterday at church, after upgrading to 0.9.11. As I stated in my earlier post, I have now been able to downgrade to 0.9.10 so it should be fine for now.
What would be really useful is if we could get some backward compatibility with older browsers.

KCG YES!! Old browser backward compatibility would be awesome... even if it means an option to disable some features, I really just need the plain old link stuff to keep working.

KCG ok, I think that you use an ipad as well. In that case you are locked by Apple and forced to use an older release.

witterholt No worries. I managed to get version 0.9.7.1 working on both iPads and tablet so I am in a much better situation now. Thanks for your help Chris.

KCG you are welcome. I can see if I can display an info message with the download link for older versions instead of the logo in such situations.

witterholt I would really appreciate some easy instructions for how to revert to a previous version of the remote plugin. I upgraded to 0.9.12 today and it broke. I've tried everything else that has been suggested, but don't know how to go back to 0.9.10 which worked perfectly
