Did you ever figure out why the transitions are not working for group images in the newest version?
I did. However fixing it is another story... it's kinda complicated.

So I am guessing we went backward on the transitions since it worked in the prior 2.9.2 portable but not the newest?? Is it going to be fixed? Thanks for all you do! If I could program I would love to help but Im bearly code web.

@ebowen What happened is that there were a whole lot of code changes between 2.9.2 and 2.9.4 which caused a functionality regression. Unfortunately it's not a simple case of just restoring the functionality because there are a whole lot of other things that happened. At the moment we're just trying to find the time to get another RC out (I have one outstanding item that I've not been able to get to), but once that is done I'll see if there's a way for the functionality to be restored. Like I said, it's complicated, and it's not a simple thing to fix.

Juste a little bug spotted in OpenLP 2.9.4 on Windows 10 :

When we hide the preview panel (in the top menu : View -> uncheck Preview Panel) il works, but the preview panel appears again if we quit and restart OpenLP.

Please check the impact of these settings:

I think that 2.9.4 takes a long time to close as it tries to close these connectors which are unavailable. If a Controller is unavailable its default should probably not be checked.

I see that the Android Remote is leaving us. This was THE feature that made OpenLP very useful for our small church.

It has been great to be able to control slides from the pulpit whenever I needed to.

Are there ways to control OpenLP remotely without using a form of remote desktop?

Yes if you open any browser and input the IP address of the OpenLP server (for example: 192.168.X.XXX:4316, which you can find in the remote interface settings of OpenLP) you can control the service from that web browser. I switchd from using the OpenLP app on IOS to using the web remote. Not sure if this answered your question or not, but hope it helped.

@revncele The Android Remote is deprecated, but that's because we're focusing on the Web Remote, which has the same (and more) functionality, and is much more responsive too.

As @Brian116 said, just open the Remote Interface settings in OpenLP 2.9.4, and either use the QR code, or type in the address into your phone's browser, and you'll get a fully functional remote.

In the Downloads section of the OpenLP website, it states that on a Mac, OS 10.9 is the minimum OS for both versions - 2.4.6 and 2.9.4 - of OpenLP.

I have tried downloading my 'own' disk image and I have also tried bringing across the disk images which I downloaded to two different Macs, but I cannot get 2.9.4 to run on MacOS 10.15.x (Catalina). It is 'damaged' and I am asked if I want to cancel or move the Application to the Bin. (See image)

Version 2.4.6 runs correctly.

Am I doing something wrong - likely - or have the minimum system requirements changed?

I remember reading that some time ago, but as all of my installations at the time were working, I had completely forgotten about it.

Having said that, running the command in Terminal - I copied and pasted it to ensure I got it right - hasn't fixed the problem. I wondered whether a computer restart was required, even though that wasn't stated. I tried the restart, but it still isn't working. :(

What do I try next?

This is weird.

I have just tried typing - not copying and pasting as previously - the quarantine command into Terminal on my macOS Catalina 10.15.7 installation on my Mac mini and this time I have success.

I'm not complaining, but I am left wondering. However, you have plenty of other things to worry about, so please don't lose sleep or devote any time to this.

I am working in Windows 11 and Windows 10.

In WIN-11 today I was able to capture screen shot of the task manager and a log file for OpenLP taking a very long time to close.

Thank you for all the work on OpenLP. I see several improvements over the years. Keep up the good work.

I see a significant difference with the Themes from 2.4.6 and 2.9.4 . I have exported/imported the most often used themes, but each needs a lot of editing. The main issue is how a font is displayed, particularly in the way it is outlined. The 2.9.4 fonts are not as bold, as thus difficult to get them as readable as in 2.4.6.

I have made sure the monitors have the same resolution in 2.4.6 and 2.9.4.

Yes, we have reverted how the outlines are generated, and it will be part of the next release.

At a guess, I'd say that there was some issue in the process of the copy-paste.

Looking at the new release, generally looking good, but have a couple of problems with the linked audio.

Firstly I cant find the setting to set linked audio to be paused. It used to be in General Settings, but now isn't there.

Secondly, I cant see a setting to switch audio track, we keep several linked audio files with different hymn tunes, 2.4 used to have a drop down box under the 'live' display for selecting tracks, I cant see how to select an alternative track on 2.9.4.

Sorry if there have been answered already, I searched but couldn't find a solution.

Been using openlp for a few years, testing the new version and finding a couple of issues. This may have already been listed, sorry if my search has failed.

--Open service file automatically if double clicked

If I double click an openlp service file (.osz) on my desktop, then OpenLP 2.9.4. starts up but does not load the service file. Previous versions would (as expected OS behaviour) open up with the file already loaded. (Win10)

--OpenLP does not retain display settings

We have a use case where we edit the OpenLP service files on the same laptop that we run the service on. When we run the service we have a projector connected by HDMI. When we edit the service files the projector isn't connected (it's installed in the venue).

OpenLP 2.9.4 detects the missing projector and automatically changes the Screen options to show the output on the laptop screen (making it difficult to get to the OpenLP window). Then when we get to the venue on Sunday we have to reset the options to display on the projector.

Previous versions of OpenLP didn't do this, it would leave the output set to projector / 2nd monitor even if it didn't exist. This was preferable behaviour for us as it avoids having to change the output options all the time. There may be an option I have missed to enable this behaviour?
