I was going off the original post where it said to "read the announcement before posting here, since a few issues and workarounds are already mentioned there." and then "Please report findings and issues here." - my issues weren't listed on that page so I commented here. Would you like me to do anything with GitLab?

OpenLP portable will not save the services to the USD drive the application is on. It will save to any other drive. It gives the error shown below.

Why can't we set the Theme for each item in the Service on the right-click content menu with the "Change Item Theme" on the new OpenLP 2.9.4? See attached screen shot from OpenLP 2.4.6.

I'm finding it easier on Windows 10 & 11 to get OpenLP2.9.4 and OpenLP2.4.6 to work properly on all my computers and for demonstration to users during training by using only the PortableApps.com versions downloaded from https://openlp.org Downloads section. Love both the old 32bit and the new 64bit. I can get motion backgrounds with .gif files on the new 64bit version. Works great.

Also, when using the 64bit version with OpenLP2.9.4, I don't have to install VLC on the user's computers. This makes OpenLP2.9.4 a plug-n-play with USB sticks and with SDXC cards. Once you get the OpenLP2.9.4 working on the sticks, the PortableApps.com has a great backup to save all; especially, all improvements/additions to the Media database functions. Like background audio for your songs. Love it.

Here's my setup each day as I move forward with both OpenLP2.4.6 and OpenLP2.9.4:

(1) I have to open McAfee Total Protection and have to "Turn off" Real-Time Scanning until I restart my PC. (starts again at restart)

(2) I have to right-click the Task Bar icon for Malwarebytes and from the context menu select, "Quit Malwarebytes" (starts again at restart)

(3) Next, I insert my OpenLP2.9.4 USB stick or SDXC card; and I must use "diskmgmt" Disk Management, right-click the removable USB or SDXC, select "Change Drive Letters and Paths..." on the context menu, and "Change..." the drive letter to "O" for use with my updated portableapps.com version of OpenLP2.9.4 or Open2.4.6. Then close the Disk Management window, any further use of this window could be dangerous to your computer. Be Cautious!

(4) Using File Explorer, go to O: drive and double-click "Start.exe" to open PortableApps.com, I have already installed the OpenLP2.9.4 or OpenLP2.4.6 onto different USBs using only one at a time with the O: drive. I have many updates for bibles, songs, themes with motion backgrounds too, images, media, suggested logos, training, and suggested services.

(5) OpenLP2.4.6 works great as it always did, but I really like the new updates to OpenLP2.9.4 for Presentations, Images, Media, motion backgrounds with gif images for Themes; and especially, the fact that VLC functionality is "built-in" on OpenLP2.9.4, YOU DEVELOPERS ARE DOING A GREAT JOB. It's been years in the making, but OpenLP2.9.4 is getting better and better. I, especially, like the new, "QDarkStyle" background screen for OpenLP2.9.4.

However, the OpenLP2.9.4 has some issues that inhibit full utilization:

(1) You must right-click on your desired Theme and on the context menu select "Set As Global Default" for each item to be displayed "live" from the Service.

(2) On a Service listing, you cannot right-click and select the desired Theme for that item with the "Change Item Theme" selection. (like it was on OpenLP2.4.6) Then you could save the Service and reopen the Service and each item maintained its selected Theme; established, during the build of the service.

(3) I occasionally during training or for services like to open a YouTube video. My Custom Formatting tags do not give me a full screen view. Here is the list of the tag settings: Description "youtube w/controls", Tag "tube", Start HTML "<iframe width=100% height=100% src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/", End HTML "?" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>" (Note: bold quotes (") are not part of content and only used to show content of each tag)

@ipullin I took a glance through your document, and you've clearly done a good job! I just recommended you look through the issues on GitLab to see if any that you see have already been reported so that we as developers have less work to do. Sometimes people bring up the same issues over and over again, and then complain when we don't address them, even though they've been reported (and fixed in the code).

Have you checked the theme level? People have complained about this, but then have the wrong theme level set.

We'll have to investigate this.

We changed the renderer completely in OpenLP 3.0. Some of the old HTML code may not work in the new renderer.

Raoul, my appologies on items (1) and (2). I should have found that. OpenLP 2.9.4 works great and I love the new layouts for Themes too.

I'll see if I can send notice to McAfee to see if I can get OpenLP.exe whitelisted for Windows 10 & 11 .

By the way MalwareBytes only finds it OpenLP.exe 2.9.4 bad when McAfee is activated. When McAfee is disabled, the MalwareBytes does no show a problem with OpenLP.exe for 2.9.4 version.

Technically, they're groups, not folders. The icon is easy enough to change.

Add me to the voice asking for the same icon being used in the media library. That weird boxes in a box on the images library is ghastly. That said, I like what I am seeing in the new version. Groupings in the Media library are Much appreciated.

Hi, I'm using OpenLP 2.9.4 portable on Windows 10 and so far when I open a web browser for the Remote Interface it doesn't show me the main view, it shows me a screenshot of my screen.

In Australia, we're renowned for dropping consonants at the beginning and end of words. The letter H is a particular favourite amongst the dropped letters. However, I don't think that it was intentional that the H at the beginning of Horizontal in that dialogue box was omitted. I've looked as closely as I can to ensure that it isn't hidden behind the OLP Logo, and I'm certain that it isn't.

Having spotted the error, it's now very annoying!

Remote Interface it doesn't show me the main view, it shows me a screenshot of my screen.

My guess is that you only have a single display. We don't have a way to stream the display window to the remote, so we have to essentially take pictures of the screen and send it to the remote. Without the display window showing, you're just going to see your screen.

It's probably because the Wizard in macOS is narrower than on other platforms (see the Themes page in the manual for an example of the wizard on a particular flavour of Linux). I'll see if I can push the wizard a little wider to allow the H to show up again.

Having been friends with a couple of friends of mine in SA who are also Aussies, I have high hopes that you will understand and that you will not get offended.) Is this a bug? It works in the last beta 2.9.2 portable. It works on both group of images and individual images added to service.
I'm busy looking into it. It's complicated.

So I am guessing we went backward on the transitions since it worked in the prior 2.9.2 portable but not the newest?? Is it going to be fixed? Thanks for all you do! If I could program I would love to help but Im bearly code web.

I'm running openlp on linux in a virtualenv, and none of the rendering works:

Theme thumbnails, live previews, even the list of song elements above the previews are all blank.

Any ideas? I tried running from git and from the tarball.

Has anybody figured out correct syntax for custom formatting tags for align center, align left and align right? The ones in the manual do not work in 2.9.4. I have tried a number of html and css strings and nothing works.
