Showing Live Stream During Service

I'm being asked to display the transmission of the proceedings at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. Leaving aside any copyright issues, is it possible to do this seamlessly within OpenLP?

The only technique I have found is to switch, mid-service, from Extended to Duplicate screens which is very clunky as you need to be quick to confirm the switch in modes or it reverts automatically if you don't click the confirm change button in time.

I had hoped that I could "Show desktop" within OpenLP and have the BBC iPlayer running there, but find the programme then displays on the operator screen not the congregation's screen.

If I'm asked to do something like this, I usually use the Shift+Windows Key+Left or Right Arrow combinations to move a window from the main display to the extended desktop screen.

So for example if I'm asked to show a YT clip I maximise the YT clip on the main screen press play (space bar) and then immediately hit Shift-Windows+Right Arrow to move the YT clip on to the extended desktop monitor. Then just as the clip is about to finish I move the YT clip back to the main screen with Shift+Windows+Left Arrow and press pause (Space)

With a bit of practice it doesn't look too clunky.

I think my trouble is that I'm very unfamiliar with working with multiple screens.

At a service rehearsal today someone said "Why don't you drag the iPlayer window to the display (rather than operator screen) screen?".

It seems your solution is just that with the added information that there are some keyboard shortcuts that make the job far easier.

You also point out something that I discovered. You need to stop the video playing when you switch back to showing OpenLP screens, as the audio will continue to play, even though the congregation can't seen it!
