Late reply but figured it out on my win11.
I went into settings > screens and pressed identify, the display with bugged black background didn't identify itself.
What I did then was simply plug the hdmi out and in to the laptop while openlp was still running and the thing fixed itself.
Identified the screens and it now worked, the transparency was back. Hope it helps someone 🙂
