OpenLP doesn't load on MacOs Sonoma 14.5

Hi ! I'm a long lasting user of OpenLP on MacOS, and until now I've never experienced particular issues.
However, since I moved from Macbook Pro 13" late 2016 under Monterey to a new Macbook to M1 Pro under Sonoma 14.5, I've never managed to launch correctly OpenLP, even with older versions (I've tried : v2.4, v2.9.5, v3.0.2 and v3.1.2).
With the latest release (v3.1.2), even following the terminal commands tips form Apple Silicon processors, only the OpenLP main logo pops up and then disappears; the app icon is appearing on the dock as "open", but clicking on it has no effect, and no OpenLP window can be load. What is quite surprising is that when launching, OpenLP launches automatically Keynote app ??!??
Has someone any idea to fix this please ? Thanks a lot !

Have you tried opening Terminal.app and running "open /Applications/OpenLP.app" from the command line?

I've just tried, and it works, as mentionned in a newer forum topic.
Thanks a lot for making it possible for me to use this amazing app !
If you heard for some final fix to get the app launched normally, I would be glad to be aware of it !

The good news is, you're not alone. You & I have the same technical issue.
The bad news is, we may be the only two people having it.

The known common denominators at this point are that we're both using macOS 14.5 on Apple Silicon, and we previously ran various earlier versions of OpenLP on these systems and in our user accounts.

@raoul you might be able to replicate this issue if you start with a fresh user account on an Apple Silicon machine, load & run 2.4.6 there, and then update to 3.1.2.

raoul I can also send you a copy of my openlp folder if that would help. I know your time is limited, so if you guys have any ideas about what might be causing this, shoot me a list of things to try and I'll be glad to help.

Nope, you are not the only two and I doubt this is happening only to the three of us. Running the app from terminal did work.

neo77 what's your environment? Apple Silicon, and updated from older version(s) of OpenLP?

Hi ! Thanx a lot for you support. On my side, for the time being, launching via the terminal works well, and I have unfortunately not much time to dedicate to this issue these days.
Nonetheless, I've just tried to relaunch normally from the icon, and I've got 2 successive error messages :

OpenLP only runs in terminal, on normal launching the app becomes unresponsive requiring force quit; no error messages though. I have a Mac Studio M1 Max, Sonoma 14.6.1.

I ran into this issue when trying to help someone upgrade OpenLP on their Mac, and we figured out a way around it.

The root of the issue is that macOS is restricting disk access, and requiring applications to request the disk access. The easiest way to get around this issue is to give OpenLP full access to the disk.

Click on the Apple icon in the top left of your menu bar and choose "System Preferences..."
Click "Security & Privacy"
Click "Full Disk Access"
Click on the + icon at the bottom of the list
Find OpenLP.app and select it

Now OpenLP should have full access to your disk, and these errors should disappear. In a future version of OpenLP we will look for a way to mitigate this.

In my case it didn't work, but terminal does the trick.

Yeah, OpenLP already has the following permissions on my system:

contacts
calendars
media & apple music
full disk access
accessibility
screen & system audio recording
automation (finder & system events)

Even with all that, I have to start OpenLP via command line.

Hi !
Giving full disk access to OpenLP didn't solve the problem on my computer. Meanwhile, I've just updated to Sonoma 14.7. But the behaviour has changed : launching OpenLP from the icon makes the logo appears on desktop and Keynote to be launched. But no more error message pops up, and I'm force to kill the app since not responding.

I am now on macOS 15.0, and OpenLP 3.1.3 opens correctly for me from the Finder.
