running the old with the new

At our church we are running 2.4.6 an wanted to upgrade to the newest version. For some reason the new version doesn't see our projector as a second screen. When I reinstalled the old version all our songs were gone!

I want to figure out the new version but can't risk losing our old songs in case I can't get things to work by Sunday services.

Is there a way to keep both versions working on our computer?

No, you cannot have both versions installed at the same time.

OpenLP's screen detection code has not changed significantly enough to cause it to no longer detect a projector, and we haven't received any bug reports about it, so I'm guessing that this is something peculiar to your setup. Can you confirm that you are setting up the projector correctly?
