Formatting tag in song

OS Linux 22.04 - Firefox browser

I created a custom formatting tag called capo (ex usage: {capo} Capo 5 {/capo}.

The idea being I want it to show on the stage chords view and obviously not on Main. (The capo in this image was me manually editing the screenshot.)

This is what my lyric looks like:

What am I missing? Can it be done?

OpenLP strips out all the formatting tags before sending them to the chords view, so you won't see it there. Currently OpenLP doesn't support setting a capo, but we can add it to our list of feature requests.

I figured I was titling at the windmill. But yes, please put it on the wish list.

essergee OpenLP allows for chords containing numbers. IE [D1]. We utilized a "chord" on the first line; before the lyrics of the song to indicate capo 1; play in D. This would be for a song in Eb. We tell our guitar player the capo number is also the number of times he needs to press the "down" arrow on his chords view tablet.

It might be enough to have OpenLP respect the "asterisk as first character within square brackets" per https://www.chordpro.org/chordpro/chordpro-chords/ . That would allow custom text on the chord display screen. Current behavior is to throw an "invalid chord detected" error.

This would also resolve an issue that I have, in that we use the asterisk feature to embed measure markers along with the chords (example below), so I can't just copy/paste from a ChordPro file into OpenLP.
