Remote working for iOS app but not web

This one has me scratching my head. I have just installed OpenLP 3.0.3 on an M2 Mac mini with Sonoma and I can access the remote control using the old iOS app but not using any browser either across the network or even on the same device. 😖 Furthermore, an nmap scan of the Mac shows port 4136 as closed.

How on earth is the iOS remote working? More importantly, can anyone give me some troubleshooting hints?

Your port number there is incorrect, it is 4316.

raoul So it is. Well spotted.
I wish that solved the problem but sadly not. I can now see the port open with nmap which at least makes more sense.

natan Do you have the web remote installed? It's a separate download, it doesn't come bundled with OpenLP per se. You can download it in the Remote settings (OpenLP menu -> Preferences -> Remote)

The web remote server is installed (version 0.9.10). It's the same server that supports the iOS app is it not?

natan Essentially, yes. There are two versions of the API available in the remote. The iOS remote uses v1, which is deprecated and will be removed in a future version of OpenLP, and the web remote uses v2. But the two versions of the API are not separable, so they always run "side-by-side" in a manner of speaking.

When you say you can't access the web remote - what message is displayed by the browser?

I'm receiving a "404 Not found" error. Each URL gives the same result.
