We just started using the remote option, but I am curious about something.

Do we have to enter the URL to OpenLP EVERY time we start OBS ?

When the programs have been closed (OpenLP and OBS) and then reopened for next service, the URL does not work and needs to be added again as a source. and then it works.

Is this normal or are we doing something wrong?

The computer where OpenLP is located has a fixed IP so not affectted by DHCP changes, and we are connected via Ethernet cable.

Thank you for any advice.

We use OBS as well but we do not need to re-enter the remote address. So it seems that it is related to your configuration.
In our case OpenLP and OBS are running on the same computer.

We have it running on different PCs and we don't have to re-enter anything. Are you sure your IP does not change? What part of the link actually changes that you need to fix it every time?
Next time look at the link to see what changed.

we use OBS overlays (stages) on the same computer, so don't worry about IP (unless testing with two computers).
So our OBS urls are:
http://localhost:4316/stages/obslyrics
etc
If you are using two computers, I suggest you set them both up with fixed IP addresses. Just be sure they are unique! Then you will not have to change any of your OBS browser sources. We tend to have fixed IP addresses on any assets that are used by others - e.g. our mixer, printer, projector.

I set up fixed IP assignments through DHCP in the router for the systems running OpenLP and OBS. Thus, the remotes for OpenLP and OBS do not change. By the way, OBS has a nice remote app that runs through its Websocket Server. If our tech is out, I can run OpenLP from a tablet and OBS from my smartphone all from the pulpit.
