This issue has been reported before for 2.9.4(?) but it is still present in V3.0.1

When playing a video it briefly flicks back to the start and starts replaying at the end of the video. Sometimes it is for a fraction of a second, other times it can be a second or more that is played.

Same here. I noticed that the time dispayed for a video is, for example 3:32 but the song finished at 3:28 and restart for the last 4 seconds. When I play the same video in VLC, the time displayed is 3:28 and the video finish well at 3:28. It's like OLP run a little bit faster than VLC. (Win10)

In song, the video background don't loop (at least with a ".mp4" video).

media files can be looped, but would be awesome if video backgrounds in themescan loop as well. I read that you can convert mp4 to gif to use it as a loopable bg.

Thank you for bringing our attention to this. I've not been able to reproduce this on linux, but on windows 10 I can reproduce the issue where OpenLP shortly replays from start instead of stopping.

I wasn't sure if I was 'seeing things' before just now. But it's true. :(

I prepare a service.

I save it.

I exit OpenLP.

I start OpenLP.

I can't open the service I just saved.

I have saved the same service in three different locations. The same error message(with different file locations, obviously) appears each time.

I think, no, I'm sure, that this has occurred only since OpenLP 3.0. I can't open the service files in versions 2.9.4 or 2.9.5. I haven't tried anything under 3.0.1, but having read the release notes, I can't see that anything in it will fix this error.

EDIT**

I did try installing 3.0.1 on Sunday afternoon on my Apple silicon MacBook Pro. I'm still unable to read the services which I created under 3.0.

BUT, and it is a huge but.

I created a tiny service of one song and one of my custom images, saved the service and I can open it again. I saved that service to my local drive (not a cloud drive as previously) so I don't yet know if that is a contributing factor. But I have been saving (almost) everything in the cloud for the past few years with no problems in OpenLP. It would seem very strange to me for that to suddenly become a problem. Stranger things have happened. However. the good news is that I can save service files to cloud drives and open them from cloud drives.

But VLC is still missing.

I cannot reproduce the issue regarding opening services files on neither Linux nor Windows 10. Can you share one of the files that will not open?

@tgc , that's weird. I cannot reproduce it anymore. Maybe because I switched the language from Dutch to English (to take a screenshot for another issue) and back again or because of a system restart...

We had a number of issues with users changing the port without realising the effect, and removed the option from the UI. Having said that, it is still customisable from the configuration. You can still change the port number in the configuration (via your operating system), and the server will run on that port number.

On Windows 11 with 3.0.1, if I browse to the live view all I get is a black window. The other remote views all work as expected.

3.0.1 appears to have fixed the problem I had with backgrounds sneaking from behind presentation slides. Great job guys!!

I spoke too soon.

I can't open a service again today. It was created using 3.0.1 and I tried opening it on 3.0.1

My first attempt was with the service file saved to iCloud.

I have now recreated my service and saved it to two different locations - Local drive (SSD) and again to iCloud. I then tried to open the service file, one at a time. Both failed.

I have previously tried three, I think, different cloud providers, all to no avail. It's called 'clutching at straws'. Where's the desperation emoji when you need it?

Interestingly (to me), it isn't even showing up in the list of recent services. Everything seemed to be working well yesterday. I'm sure that I had saved the service and re-opened it, at least once. I was getting confident that things were working well, so I decided that I'd try the remote, using my phone - never done that before! It worked twice, going through the service from start to finish, and I simulated that I'd made an error and had to go back a couple of slides. I just wanted to see the capabilities. Everything worked. Time to show someone else my new discovery.

They were impressed.

Until OpenLP crashed.

It wasn't an OpenLP error crash. This was a 'Please say what you were doing to rereate the problem. This report will be sent to Apple.'

I tried restarting OpenLP about 3 times yesterday and it crashed each time. One more attempt, OpenLP opened but attempting to open the service file resulted in 'Unable to open the service file because it is damaged etc.'

I just tried opening that service on an Intel Mac which is running the same macOS version - 13.3 - but instead of OpenLP3.x, it is still running 2.9.4. I'm not sure why this Mac wasn't updated.

Anyhow, when I attempted to lead the service, it began doing something and then gave the error message. When I went to quit OLP, it asked if I want to save the service (because it had been changed!).

I didn't change it and the service didn't load, so what is it talking about?

Yes, it had begun loading the service. The first item - a .png slide I have created and used countless times - had loaded into the Service panel. That was the first item in my prepared service.

I don't know if there's anything useful in this information. I tried to get a debug log for Raoul recently and followed the instructions you've linked to. Unfortunately, there was nothing at the location. Apple has done a couple of things lately that have left more than a few people scratching their heads. Them moving these log files wouldn't be the strangest thing they've done.

An expected filename, if it isn't already given a name in those instructions, might help me find it, if it is there, somewhere.
