Moving from Liveworship

I have used Liveworship for many years but not find that there website is no longer live so I presume they will never deliver the new Liveworship that they kept promising.
I would like to start using OpenLP but as I have a very large Liveworship database I would like to know if there is any way of importing it into openlp. If not it will be a very long manual process.

Hi @AlanTrinity, I had a quick look at LiveWorship, and it doesn't appear to use any open formats for data. Neither it's media library database, or its exported songs are in a format that can be examined for importing, and this means that OpenLP cannot currently import it. I'm sorry, but it seems like the only way you can do that is via copy and paste.

I tried to see if there was a way I could write an external importer, but it doesn't look like that will be possible without significant effort.

Hi @AlanTrinity , I did some more digging, and it looks like there might be a way to get your songs out of LiveWorship with minimal hassle, but I need to do a little experimentation first before I can give you any more answers.

Hi Raoul, Thanks for looking into this. I've been experimenting with OpenLP. I find it's good with some things but I'll need a lot of practice before I attempt to use it for a service.

Hi @AlanTrinity I've found a way to get the songs out of LiveWorship and into a format that OpenLP can import. I need you to find your LiveWorship song database. Which version of Windows are you using?

Hi Raoul, I'm on win 10 version 1903. I presume the database is in the Media Library folder and I think the song database is called Ebenezer7.vdb

Hi Raoul, Should have said it's Home version and 64 bit.

All good. It's actually not the one you think it is, I discovered this myself today. You need to look in:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LiveWorship\Media Library

Then just e-mail the vdb file to support (at) openlp.org and I'll pick it up from there.

Hi Raoul, That is the default address but I use Liveworship with the media Library in Onedrive so that I can use it on 2 computers. The vdb file I'm using is too large to email (84MB) so I've put in DropBox and sent you a link.

Hi, we also want to move from live worship to openlp. Is this script already available? Tank you for all the hard work and making openlp available for everyone!

@bekr I'll e-mail you about it. I've got a script, but you have to download another program to export the songs so that the script can import them.
