You have 2 options: forced-split or optional split.

Edit the song/verse, select 'Edit All', and you will notice tags that look simiar to:

---[Verse 1]---
This is a hard split. Another verse tag is

[---]
This is an optional split.

The difference is that the hard split will always split at that point. The optional split will only split if there's not enough room for the whole verse to be shown on one slide (template variations in font size, for example).

To force a split, add another hard verse, but with the same verse number. For example:

---[Verse:1]---
You will notice we say brother
And sister 'round here
It's because we're a family
And these folks are so near
When one has a heartache
We all share the tears
And rejoice in each victory
In this family so dear

This verse will show the whole verse on the same slide (template formatting permitting). To force a split but keep the same verse number, add the force split but use the same verse number:

---[Verse:1]---
You will notice we say brother
And sister 'round here
It's because we're a family
And these folks are so near
---[Verse:1]---
When one has a heartache
We all share the tears
And rejoice in each victory
In this family so dear

This example will split the verse onto 2 separate slides, but the verse order will remain the same.

Note: When using the verse split like this, it will show up as a separate verse on the live panel and also in the normal edit window, but the verse selection options at the bottom will only need to specify the verse once.

Word of caution: If you do this, then you cannot edit using Edit ->Edit Verse - you have to edit using Edit->Edit All; otherwise the second ---[Verse:N]--- will show up as part of the verse as normal text rather than a formatting tag.
