Hello nanstice and welcome to the forums!

If I understood correctly you would like to:

1. Display stuff with OpenLP on display 2, desktop 1.
2. Display some other stuff on display 2, desktop 2
3. Keep them both open and switch between them
by swapping the desktop.

The problem here is that OpenLP sends stuff to display, not desktops.

So changing desktop of the 2nd display is basically the
same as changing the background image of the display -
for OpenLP It does not matter.

At the moment integrating technology that would detect
the virtual desktops for OpenLP sounds a little bit science
fiction and I’m afraid it won’t happen any time soon.

Have you tried blanking to desktop in OpenLP?

If you have some other stuff open on the display under
OpenLP, the stuff would be shown once the “Blank to
desktop” is used, if you wanted to show the stuff from
OpenLP again, you could just un-blank it.

Or if you wish to show background slides
from say PowerPoint or video backgrounds,
you could use transparent themes to display
them under stuff projected by OpenLP.

Workaround with remote web live view

In current release (2.1.6) there is a bug in web based views that shows everything even though the “blank to desktop” is active.
Thus you could use the web live view and send it to the desired virtual desktop in full screen while “blank to desktop” is active in OpenLP. This would allow you to switch between desktops.

I hope you can find a solution that works for you,
feel free to ask if you have any further questions!

All the best and thank you for choosing OpenLP,

Azaziah
