Cannot get any Powerpoint slide to project

Hi there,

It seems that since OpenLP 2.0.3 has been installed I can no longer get any Powerpoint/Impress file to project. The presentation imports with a red cross icon next to it in media manager. When I try to project it I get a error window:

 "The presentation C:......ppt is incomplete, please reload."

This is when trying to present using either Microsoft Powepoint Viewer 2003/2007.

Although I have tried installing LibreOffice 4.1 and OpenOffice Impress 4, these are both shown as greyed out in the Controllers section, so I cannot test with these. 

Any help greatly appreciated, as overnight OpenLP has become pretty useless for our needs.

Have you tried reloading the presentations into OpenLP?

Hi Raoul, yes I have removed the presentation and then reloaded various ones, but to no avail. I am unable to try 'OpenOffice' type presentations because of the second problem with controllers not being recognised. Simon

I've heard recently of a problem like this with PowerPoint Viewer. Unfortunately it will require another release to fix the bug, but try popping into our IRC channel and speaking to "phill" - he might be able to help you. He's usually available in the daylight hours of GMT.

Ok, I'll check that thanks. What do I do wrt second problem. We normally use OpenOffice Impress, yet the controllers are shown greyed out. Many thanks for your time ;)

I presume you're using Windows? OpenLP on Linux is not able to interface with LibreOffice 4, due to an incompatibility with the library provided by LibreOffice.

I have the same problem when trying to load and Microsoft PoweerPoint Slide, either 2003/2007 and 2010. PowerPoint is installed on PC using Windows 8, OpenLP 2.0.3 Is there any answer to this problem please.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? (not the format of the files, the actual PowerPoint running on your computer)
