New theme pictures.

I just started using this program, and so far it has been great. It works so much better than powerpoint! I have figured out enough that I could use it at church Sunday, but I cannot figure out how to get the program to go to the right folder to import new pictures for themes. I have a bunch of pictures specifically for this purpose, but it won't open to the right folder when I try to import new pictures. I have made sure they were the right size pictures. It goes to a folder that has nothing in it. I am not sure I am even making clear what my problem is...I have read through the manual, and found no help for that. Anyone that could help, I would be so grateful. It's a little boring with only a few different themes.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand you. Can you explain what you mean by, "won't open to the right folder when I try to import new pictures"?

What format are the pictures in? Openlp uses .png and .jpg. I don't think it can cope with others.

@zrgrnys: Are you trying to import the images from "File -> Import -> Themes"? You only can import OpenLP Themes there (which are special files and not just image files). Check http://manual.openlp.org/themes.html#creating-new-themes to see how to create themes @MR: What image formats are supported depends on Qt and what image plugins are shipped with it. On my computer these images are supported by Qt: Qt4 image formats...     read: bmp, gif, ico, jpeg, jpg, mng, pbm, pgm, png, ppm, svg, svgz, tga, tif, tiff, xbm, xpm     write: bmp, ico, jpeg, jpg, png, ppm, tif, tiff, xbm, xpm Regards

Hi I think this might help. Themes which can be imported into Open LP are ones ending with the duffix ("theme".otz) so if you are creating new backgrounds on your PC I guess you are using .BMP or JPG images (PNG also works) the way to get these on to your program is as follows. Instead of trying to import them from the drop down menu in the tool bar, go to the theme area (bottom right of your screen where the themes are shown and select the "create new" icon this will allow you to add your pre created background to the new theme and name it what ever you want to,. You can also decide what font,colour/color, size and position you desire. don't forget to name it Then if you think your backgrounds are to die for why not export them (they automatically pick up the .otz suffix ) and tell everyone about them hope this works for you Rosignol.

zrgrnys, googol pointed you to the manual where it shows you how to create themes. To be more specific, on the second screen of the Theme Wizard is an option for Background Type. In the drop down menu beside it you can select "image". It will then allow you to select whatever image you want to use as long as it is of the right type.

I just discovered in "Theme Manager", you can right click on the image and "Copy Theme". Then you can rename it whatever you want (probably the image you want to put in). Then you can click the "Edit a theme" icon and add in that image you want.
