No Audio on laptop with XP

Got Openlp running ok on the church laptop, except we can't get sound with MP3's linked to songs.  Reinstalled several times,  MP3's play ok with WMP and VLC when clicked on by filename. Pause Audio is not set on. Timer does not move from 00.00.It all works fine on my home W7 machine.MP3's are stored in Openlp program folder in C://openlp/MP3s and linked to from there.MP3's play OK when dropped in to the service from Media.

The background audio uses the built in Phonon media player to play audio files (it does not use VLC for technical reasons), so try to play your mp3s using the Phonon media player, using the forums for info on how to get it right. Then they should play.

@RaoulThanks for the replyI have enabled Phonon, put it to the top of the list, but still no sound from any song slide-| - Rhys

Rhys. what I meant you should do is add Phonon, then add the MP3 to your media tab, and then try to play the MP3 like a video. If you don't hear anything, then you need to mess with codecs until you do. Once that is working, the background audio should work too.

@Raoul Thanks for replying. I can't resolve this because the laptop just died and I had to nip out and buy another notebook to replace it.  The new systen works perfectly.

You need to check the drivers and check the settings from the control panel and check the sounds are playing or not.
