From a USB drive.

I am wondering if it is possible to completely run OpenLP from a flashdrive? It appears I can load the basic program on it but it stores the data files on the computer harddrive. The reason I am asking is because we use two different computers, one in the office where all the service prep is done and then a different one for presentations. The easiest thing would be to have everything on a USB drive that can then be used on either computer

Hello, Yes, currently this is not possible, but there are a few options which could be of interest for you: http://manual.openlp.org/configure.html#songs If you add a song to a service file on Computer A and open the service file on Computer B then the song can be imported (if it does not exist in the Computer B database). You have to enable "Add missing songs when opening service". Advanced and experimental is support for databases accessible over the network.... Cheers _____________________________ Like OpenLP? Two more options you may consider. 1. If your computers are networked, you can point the data directory of the presentation computer to the data directory on the office computer, which you make available via a network share. 2. If your computers are not networked, you can configure both computers to use the USB drive as the location for the data directory. In addition both computers will need to be running Win Vista/7. XP does not support symbolic links, only junctions.
