anthony422
I am just wondering if it is possible to use OpenLP on OSX 10.4. I am not currently able to upgrade my iMac to a new OS and would like to be able to run OpenLP. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it. Even if it means running from source at the momment.

Thanks in advance.

MrGamgee
Anthony, have you tried it on 10.4? Did you run into problems? If your iMac has an Intel processor I can't see there being a problem. OpenLP doesn't yet run on 10.7 Lion, but as far as I know it's fine on the older versions.

Sam

anthony422
Sam,

When I download and install the latestest build the program simply opens and then instantly crashes. There is no error message, but it won't acctually open.

googol
Hello,

Did you have older versions of OpenLP installed?

We need a debug log: http://wiki.openlp.org/Debug_Log

Cheers

_____________________________

Like OpenLP? Give us a thumb.

anthony422
This is the first version of OpenLP I have tried to install on my Mac.

When I go to the terminal and attempt to start OpenLP in debug mode I get this error.

Error loading Python lib 'Python': dlopen(Python, 10): Symbol not found: _chmod$UNIX2003 Referenced from: /Applications/OpenLP.app/Contents/MacOS//Python Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

I cannot seem to get a true debug log as the program is never loading.

Thanks again for your help!

MrGamgee
Anthony, sorry to have mislead you re 10.4. According to OpenLP's offical system reqs, you do need to have Mac OS X 10.5 or higher: http://manual.openlp.org/system_requirements.html

Although I don't have a mac, your error looks like it's got an issue with Python on your system. Mac OS X 10.4 ships with Python 2.3, so you could try upgrading it to Python 2.7: http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.7.2/

If you don't have any luck there, you could try running from source... http://wiki.openlp.org/Testing:Mac_OS_X_Testing_Environment

Sam

wstout
I attempted to get OpenLP running on 10.4, I had little luck, I would think it would be possible with the rightknowledge, however.

Wesley`
